What Where exhibition booklet.jpeg

What Where is a touring exhibition that explores the connection between the design of a remarkable theatre, Sala Beckett in Barcelona, and the work of Irish author Samuel Beckett. Presenting architectural models by the architect Flores & Prats, the narrative explores the contemporary context in which society is increasingly preoccupied by boundaries; and contrasts Beckett’s universal approach.

By tracing connections between Beckett’s interest in abstraction, form, structure and time in his later works, particularly through the short play What Where, the exhibition explores the relationship between time and place; language and architecture, and identity and self-perception.
