Vicky Richardson

Vicky Richardson BArch (Hons) MA FRIBA is a curator and writer specialising in architecture and design. She is Director of Grymsdyke Farm, a shared place for design experimentation which runs the acclaimed summer school, Reading Design; and a thesis tutor at the Bartlett School of Architecture.

Vicky has curated many exhibitions including the architecture section of the inaugural Guangzhou Design Triennial (2024); Herzog & de Meuron, (RA, 2023), and Light Lines: the Architectural Photographs of Hélène Binet (RA, 2021). She has played a leading role in arts organisations including the Royal Academy of Arts where she was Head of Architecture and Drue Heinz Curator; and the British Council where she was Director of Architecture, Design and Fashion at the British Council.

From 2010 to 2016 she was Commissioner of the British Pavilion at Venice Architecture Biennale, leading all aspects of the six-month exhibition and programme. She widened participation in the pavilion by opening the opportunity to curate to a public competition, and setting up the Venice Fellowships which supports young people to study in Venice while working at the Biennale.

Vicky writes about architecture for Gagosian Quarterly and Wallpaper* and is former Editor of leading design magazine Blueprint. She is a member of the Soane Medal jury. Vicky grew up in Camden and is strongly committed to her local area. She was a trustee of Camden Railway Heritage Trust and is a Director of Camden Town practice ARP Architects.
